Just an attempt to get the Introduction portion of the Forum up and running.
I have recently transitioned from a tube based system to solid state. The basis for the change had more to do with convenience and attaining a smaller foot print as I start downsizing more than for sonic reasons.
My primary analog system:
Wilson Audio Sabrina X speakers
Vitus RI-101 Mk2 Integrated amplifier
Sutherland Little Loco MC phono stage
VPI Prime with 3D tone Arm and Mutech Hayabusa MC cartridge
Jay’s CDT-3 Mk3 transport
PS Audio DSD DAC Mk 1
Gryphon PowerZone 3.10 power optimizer
Power Cords:
Audience FrontRow HP 20 amp/C19 feeding the PowerZone from a dedicated 20 amp circuit
Audience Front Row HP 15 amp/C15 feeding the Vitus RI-101 Mk2
Various Shunyata PCs feeding the Sutherland and Digital gear
Interconnects are Audience FrontRow XLR and RCA
Speaker cables Audience FrontRow
Music preferences: Creative Music/Avant-garde, jazz from the be-bop era onward with a bit of Fletcher Henderson and Duke Ellington thrown in for good measure, classical music especially Vienna school, and 20th Century Contemporary composers. Regarding rock, I’ve more or less grown out of it, but I do appreciate a fine Grateful Dead session now and then. Not too keen on the Audiophile spectaculars, even though I own many. My guilty pleasures regarding music are Space Age Bachelor Pad, with the appropriate cocktail and companion(s).
Being retired I have assisted friends with booking music in the Maison area through a non-profit organization Blue Stem Jazz. Recently I have since stepped away from this endeavor as I spend less time on the Madison scene these days.
